Since Ekvalita was established in 2008, we have had the opportunity to support several HR teams, equality groups, managers, employees, and volunteers in equality, diversity, and inclusion. We have carried out numerous assignments in both the private and public sectors.

Here we have gathered a few of our latest, more significant assignments.
Series of lectures on non-discrimination (2023–2025)
TEK (Trade Union for Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland)
Ekvalita produced a series of six online lectures for TEK’s staff representatives on the following topics: an introduction to non-discrimination, gender equality, LGBTQIA+, disability and anti-racism. Ekvalita organised a series of three online lectures on neurodiversity for the members of TEK. The lectures were conducted in cooperation with other DEI experts.
Ekvalita also organised a two-part training on how to create a Gender Equality and non-discrimination Action Plan. Ekvalita also created pre-tasks and self-study material for each lecture, integrated into HowSpace. The series collected double the number of participants than usual TEK online courses.
Evaluation of all Finnish ministries' Gender Equality and Diversity Action Plans (2024–2025)
The Prime Minister's Office
Ekvalita, in collaboration with Elina Nikulainen, evaluated all 12 Finnish ministries’ Gender Equality and Diversity Action Plans. This included document analysis, a short survey, interviews and hearings of representatives of the ministries before the final report was published.
Training on diversity and equity in the workplace (2024)
Kalaneuvos
Two interactive training sessions on diversity and equity in the workplace were delivered for managers at Nordic Fish Group. The sessions, held via Teams, covered the same content but were offered in different languages (Finnish and Swedish). The trainings were recorded. Ekvalita also developed a self-assessment for participants to complete after the training and provided a certificate of participation.
Support in Inclusion work (2024)
Hem och Skola Association
Support for the association’s inclusion efforts began with a workshop for its staff. Ekvalita developed a set of discussion materials to foster inclusivity across local branches, including an introductory video, a checklist, and a discussion guide.
Safer space principles (2022–2024)
City of Espoo
Expert support was provided to the city’s Economic Development, Employment, Sports, and Exercise units, as well as for Culture and Youth service units, in developing safer space principles. The support included the following components: consulting throughout the process, an in-person and online workshop, reviewing and providing feedback on the principles, and training for the entire staff.
Support for Equality and Equity plan (2023)
Kone Foundation
Ekvalita supported the Kone Foundation in designing a Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination plan. The process was participatory and developed by the employees in workshops with facilitating support from Ekvalita.
